I authored a thread on this repair.
If the relay is 'half broken' the seats will operate with the ignition on or off as long as the door is open.
Just went out and did the following:
Key not in ignition....Passenger door open and seated inside, and door closed... in both cases the seat wouldn't move.
Key in on position only..... same results as above.
Started it up..... seats move with the door open and closed.
I'll search and read up on the tread you authored.
