The filter element comes with a small bag containing new O-rings. They are used to replace those on the center shaft of the filter housing on which the filter element is installed. Another thing you need to consider doing is replacing the oil plug washer (original equipment is a copper crush washer that can result in oil drips if not replaced each oil change). You only need 8 quarts Mobil 1 OW-40 (or other oil that meets specs). Even though the specified capacity is 8.5 quarts, you can never drain all the oil out during an oil change. Your Crossfire should require exactly 8qts be added.
