Ruby gave me hell for trying to reuse the old ones, and I went with new cork from Rob...probably a good thing I did sounds like...I beleive you have a leak. You can spray a little WD-40 along the gaskets while it is idling and see if it revs any...it can be a great leak detector...no short cuts with these cars...not like the old days....lol...
