As per the "Parts Content Information" sticker mine says U.S./Canadian Parts = 1%. Since the car is assembled in Germany I would assume the majority of the 99% for the rest of the parts are German. This would go along with the fact I have yet to find a major part on the car without a 3 pointed star symbol and a MB part number right next to it.

As for the MB quality issues, from my own experience owning a '02 the vast majority of the problems have to do with the poorly tested new electronic gizmo's they put into some of their cars. Engine and transmission wise the units used in the base Crossfire and SRT-6 are tried and true. Since my SRT-6 does not have a pano-roof or Distronic, I have little fear the electronic gremlins that effected my MB will cause many problems in my SRT-6.
This is very true Mercedes and BMW have had electronic issues with all the new gadgets they are putting on their cars. That has hurt their reliability somewhat. But otherwise these are still very fine machines and to have some of those parts in our Crossfires is nothing but positive.
