I accepted the fact my car has a great cupholder, I dont drink much coffee with out a lid on so I am not worried about spilling.
Plus, with the auto there nothing but smoothness when shifting gears. Sounds like you are rough with your stick! poor car. haha

But I cannot help myself here. I have the same kind of CupHolder on my 1995 Dodge one ton. Located right over the radio.!?! Good luck with that.
In my case the radio succumbed to pop and coffee spills within 30K miles.
But then I drive like an idiot.
