I don't believe the manual states "life of the car." More like filled for life or lifetime fluid. "Lifetime" being life of the warranty.
From Manual.
Change filter and fluid at 80,000 miles. The fluid is then filled for life.

And while we are servicing transmissions, how can the leak free transmission cable plug be identified?
It can be identified by no leak being visible.
