Throttle Issues???
About a week ago my SRT6 started to rough idle and then would go into what i guess is limp mode - throttle would significantly hesitate or not kick in until the gas pedal was completely pressed. A few hours later the check engine light came on. Took it to the dealer (still under extended warranty) who said they were showing a code for a bad throttle position sensor and pedal sensor (might be getting the terminology wrong). They replaced the parts ... same problem happened. In a call to Chrysler STARS [mechanic tech support], they were told to replace the PCM, which showed me they really didn't know what was wrong. It didn't fix the problem, obviously. Finally, in what seemed to be an effort to build me a new engine I suppose, they replaced the throttle body. You guessed it - that didn't work either.
While I can appreciate the "replace 'til its fixed" philosophy, I was hoping I could get more answers from this board, as I have read some very helpful posts here in the past. I'm thinking there are a number of reasons why the car would go into limp mode. I have also read the threads about the crankshaft position sensor, which has not yet been shown to be an issue on my car.
My question is - Has anyone had a similar problem and how did they resolve it? Do you know of a common crossfire failed component that has caused a similar problem, aside from the ones mentioned above?
Thanks in advance for the help!
