Haven't noticed any exhaust residue but I have a darker color. Tell you what I did do tho' I blacked out the inside of the tips with some black heat paint. They were kinda funky looking when I got the car and the black inside really sets off the chrome tips. It was a 10 minute mod that was easy and it really cleaned up the look.
