Buying a spare ECU will cost you more than just having it tuned... it will have to be programmed for your car on a MB system... not easy or cheap...

Look at Eurocharged's site... they have(?) a new tool that lets you store a tune and plug it in to the OBD port and upload..... so you could have mulitple tunes... Don't know if it is available yet...
