It has a trick little iron-oxide diverter valve in front of the muffler, and under acceleration the exhaust gasses bypass the inlet and serve as a cutout, making a nice throaty sound. The neatest thing is the fact that you can literally put your hand on the muffler tip, even after spirited driving. No doubt, cooler gasses = denser gasses and we all know that denser air = horsepower.
