Americans are used to the same old logos...Chevy, GMC, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, etc....while Europeans know there are companies that contract out a lot of their work. AMG is part of the Benz chain as we all know, and supply engines, tranny, etc to the Benz marketed cars for the most part. Our cars were built by Karmann, who also have built other types, and brands of car until they closed. There are a lot more combinations of parts and parts of cars among European countries than there are in the states. Ford doesn't supply parts for Chevy for the most part, but may share the same alternator, or ignition. So is your car an AMG? NO....but it has many AMG components. It is a Chrysler Crossfire period. Doesn't mean you can't display Karmann, or AMG powered, no more than a muscle car can dispay JEGS, Hooker, etc...
Some people like the emblems, some like a clean look, each to their own in this case...we just all love the cars...
