It's like an ultra-thin rubbery paint... horrible choice of materials from the factory if you ask me.

I have a tiny area where it's beginning to come off... only visible if you REALLY study it, so I can live with it for now. It's only near the E-brake handle so it's fairly concealed. No other imperfections found yet.

When that day comes, I'm thinking of getting all of the painted plastic covered in either a very thin leather, or a vinyl "pleather". Whichever one is the closest match to cedar. If I go that route, I'm going all out, and covering the slate areas in a black Alcantara.

For now, I'm being gentle with it and enjoying it.
