So, I recently posted about getting new tires for my XF. Price on Hankooks from tirerack was $600 (roughly). That price did not include shipping, installation, etc.

Price from Discount Tire for the same 4 tires was $778.45 online...includes installation, stems, tax, etc.. I spoke with a rep on the phone, and when they added tire pressure sensors, etc. the price went up to $810.00. When I went in to the store today, they added “certificates” which will allow for free replacement if needed, but the price goes up ANOTHER $100 to 900.93. I understand this is still a good price for tires on this car, but when the total keeps going up like this, I get a little frustrated.

What do you guys think about the whole “certificate” thing. Is it worth it? Extra hundred dollars for all 4 for replacement of non-repairable or defective tires. This lasts for 3 years of tire life or tire wear down to 3/32 tread remaining. If tire can be repaired, it will be done free of charge.
