And after reading this far, consider the Goodyear Eagle F-1 GS-D3 as a replacement (as long as you do not need to drive in snow).
I started with the Contis, went to the original Michelin Pilot Sport design (tractor like handling) on new Ronal wheels, replaced them with Eagles. The Eagle is a bit better ride with a lot less noise on Colorado roads than the Michelins. They are tremendous in the wet.
They are tremendous in the dry. The Eagles also have a nice wheel protecting strip on them. Might be a bit more money, but its a good trade up.
