Actually, the schematic shows the Traction Control Relay mounted inside the RCM feeds power to the shift lever mechanism and an input on the TCU. So the RCM could definitly be a culprit. Clean your contacts, resolder your circuit board, reset your code and go from there.

One definition for this code for one make (Audi?) said it was a transmission select lever problem code. Another was for a valve in the transmission.
Definitely is a transmission problem though.
