You probably only need to resolder the connections to the relays.... this is a fairly easy DIY if you know how to solder... or have a friend that does....
I will look up the How To thread.....
Here you go...

Too many people jump to the wrong conclusion. It depends on the symptoms.
Example; RCM problem = solder fix.
I repeat, what was the code that was set?
180, you are correct... it may not be a solder joint problem but a failed relay or component... but for just a few minutes of solder time you can find out......if it fixes the problem your done...
if not you find a replacement....
Softballjunkie, as 180 asked....what was the code(s) from the CEL?

I searched and could only find that the code P1830 refers to the transmission on a lot of cars. I am not too sure that all cars use the same codes.
This is how the numbers are grouped.
Px1xx measurement of air and fuel
Px2xx measurement of air and fuel
Px3xx ignition system
Px4xx additional emission control
Px5xx speed and idle regulation
Px6xx computer and output signals
Px7xx transmission
Px8xx transmission
Px9xx control modules, input and output signals

and that #, but did they clear the code(engine light)or is it still on? And did they charge you for that diagnosis? If the light is still on, I would take it to your local autoparts store that reads codes for free. And I also agree w/ MikeR that you have nothing to lose by doing the solder fix; a known problem, and easy to do (if you can solder). Good luck with it Softball. Bob
Here is what I got back when I searched for Chrysler P1830 code....
Definition of Chrysler DTCP1830Make:ChryslerCode:P1830Definition:Clutch Pedal Switch Over-ride Relay Circuit
This dosent make much sense on an SRT6...
Didnt find anything for MB for that code.... Ford shows it as related to the transmission...

Actually, the schematic shows the Traction Control Relay mounted inside the RCM feeds power to the shift lever mechanism and an input on the TCU. So the RCM could definitly be a culprit. Clean your contacts, resolder your circuit board, reset your code and go from there.
Thanks Tuna... I did a quick look for RCM in the wiring section and it is scattered around.... guess I didnt spend enough time looking...
Mercedes trouble codes can be found here.
There is no P1830 mentioned though.

You may have to sign up though, its easy so it only takes a minute.
Another list of Mercedes fault codes but impossible to find a specific number as they are listed in order.

tell me about it! I almost bought a new Challenger today. Just store this car until I feel like using it.
The code was reset and is off right now. The service department told me that its not a must need now situation, but to do get it done. I'm leaving to LA on Mon wanted to take the car down, but am having second thoughts.
So is a power relay the same thing as a RCM?
Maybe Chrysler can solder it for me. I have no idea how to do it.

Definitely is a transmission problem though.
