Just an update on the "Protected" radio syndrome. The radio is a Becker radio and it is shipped to the distributor in the US in the Protected mode. Becker then configures the radio to the appropriate vehicle. In my case they screwed up.

Their recommendation is to get the dealer to order another radio, which the dealer promised to do.
