This might clarify something (I know I should get my husband on here telling this since he's the one that actually did the work) It wasn't a cable. He said, he pulled the light out, the took a flash light and looked in there. You could see a white (I think he said piece of plastic) accordian shaped (I am assuming something ribbed) thing that you could tell was supposed to slide, the took a screw driver and moved it out of the way. Now I don't know if he pushed it left or right, but i am assuming its obvious, and since it was something you could actually see, I guess you could tell which way it went. Whether that white part is part of the emergency release, the pneumatic lock or the electric lock I can't tell you. I just know, once he slid it the trunk opened!! Oh and I have a 2006 Roadster Limited.
