I looked up the specs and the Audi A6 runs a 12.5:1 compression ratio vs 10.0:1 for the Crossfire so TxLapDog must either be driving it very easy or live in a very cold climate.
Either way I have always read that 9.5 - 9.7 is about the upper limit for regular unleaded. Its being penny wise and pound foolish in my book.
