Re: HOW TO replace headlight bulb. Pictured step by step instructions
I have a 2005 Roadster and had the driver's side low beam burn out this week. I went through the step by step instructions and was able to change both the driver's side and passenger's side low beams (Sylvania Silverstar Ultra) in about 15 min total. The hardest part of the entire process was removing the plug from the light itself. It took some twisting and turning but came loose without a huge hassel. The passenger side was a bit more difficult to access, but was OK. My hands are not the size of an NFL lineman, so that helped.
My XFire has 60K miles at present. The bulbs that were in the car have lasted about 25K. I had both original headlight assemblies replaced under warranty at 35K due to hazing and spider cracks in the plastic covering. So, maybe it was easier for me to remove the plugs since the assemblies are not that old.
Bottom line... I am by no means a machanic. If I can do it, anyone in this forum can!
