Mabye it is a Texas thing.....but.....
Talk to Bank of America. I found my car in AZ, I'm in GA. I flew out, saw the car, loved it. Called the bank, they overnight-ed the check to me in AZ and I went to the DMV with the seller. Got a clear AZ title and drove home.
Turned the title over to the country clerk when I got here and registered the car. SIMPLE! I had a clear title to a car I owed 10,000 dollars on for five days!
You CAN buy from an individual ! BOA was very good to deal with, lady said that
"with your credit rating, we can loan you the money on a promise that you will surrender the title to us within ten days". At the time, my credit scores were from 776 to 803, this proves one thing:
I'm very good at being in debt!
There may be a state thing that gets in the way, but there wasn't in GA.
