Talking Scary and just in time for the holiday

I had a failure of my pulley long ago and set it aside. Recently I popped it apart to see the gizmos inside. Here is a photo of the insides for your information and use.

When the crank spins it spins with a shaking as it speeds up and slows down each MILLISECOND. THis is due to the pulses from the crank being pushed by the pistons on their power stoke. Un checked this vibration will hit the resonance point of the crank, causing it to flex and eventually CRACK and fail completely.

The rings spin free in the pulley and slip against the clutch discs to allow the rings to catch up to the pulley speed during dramatic engine rpm changes, like a gear change.......

Pins lock the rings together, springs load and push the rings against the clutches.

Enjoy, Woody

Other photo shows the stock design for grins. WW
