Default Re: $24.99 Thrill Ride

You know guys, long before functional hood scoops became popular in the late 60's and early 70's, all cars inhaled under hood super heated air and still managed to perform pretty well.
True, It only makes sense that cooler, denser, outside air would increase performance, and it's a proven fact that a NeedsWings CAI will cut nearly a 1/2 second off your 1/4 mile times in an automatic NA Crossfire.
But personally, I think it has more to do with the fact that the free flowing, higher cfm capability built into the NeedsWings CAI is what improves the performance, (over the more restrictive stock design) rather than just the introduction of cold air, (which the stock design already does).
I'd be willing to bet money that a stock NA Crossfire with nothing more than Harleyracefan's Spectre filter set up would come out ahead of a Crossfire with the stock air filter in the 1/4 mile. Simply because it would allow a less restrictive introduction of air into the intake, (even though it's heated under hood air) than the stock system does..

Osofast, why would the spectre system "eat" your MAF? Just curious.
