Spud, if you notice, I did post Motor Trends Road Test stats for the GTO, which were identical to those of a SRT6 Roadster tested in Road & Track.
Your original post said an SRT6 won't out accelerate a 400 HP GTO.
I was unable to locate any magazine tests of an SRT6 coupe, but I think it's safe to say most Coupe owners feel their cars are faster than their roadster brothern simply by weight alone.
I'm not arguing with your statement, but I simply couldn't find any magazine stats that would substanciate your claim of 4.8 sec. 0-60 times for a 400 HP Goat. (My Car & Driver Magazine collection is currently boxed up.) and I can't pull up the site that you posted. But I'm going to assume that's where you came up with the 4.8 sec. #'s you listed.
I agree with you it's a drivers race, and I automatically figured the OP came up against a 350 HP version of the Goat. Around here, I see a lot more of them, than I do of the later models.
I've owned 7 Vettes, and a 94 Z-28, so you don't have to school me on the attributes of the Chevy Small block.
