I hope you realize the exhaust tips (inside) on an SRT6 are painted high temp black from the factory, vs. the Limited tips that are not painted black. The only way to eliminate the paint would be through the use of a solvent for paint removal, which could cause other issues when the car is fully warmed up.

Are you 100% certain the tips were painted black from the factory on the SRTs? I also took a crack at cleaning mine off (used to own a Limited and used SOS pads/steel wool pads at the start and then maintained with Eagle One Chrome Polish) and chipped away what I thought was caked on crud but now know is paint.
Either way, I want to get rid of all of the black on the inside of the pipes. What do you guys recommend in terms of solvent safe for the chrome tips?
