Wow ! There you go again. I'm not scared of taking my seat apart just cautious and wanted to accumulate as much info on a subject I'm not familiar with as possible before just diving in. Call me crazy but sometimes when I'm working on something I even pull out the service manual. Weird huh ? But I guess being a 3D modeling design and drafting guy you never need to read the instructions/manual and instead of going to school to become one you probably just started typing away on your computer until one day Voila ! 3D modeling design guy.
What's laughable is this idea that because someone is a mechanic they can fix, rebuild and diagnose anything on the road and any component on it. The fact is most of us specialize ie heavy trucks and/or trailers (what I do), cars, motorcycles, etc, and alot even specialize within those catagories ie front ends, upholstery, brakes and exhaust, etc,. Maybe that's why you call yourself a "3D modeling and drafting design" guy and not just "desk worker".
I appologise to the OP. My intention was not to hijack your thread only to give you some free advice and tests you could try with no cost so as to try and solve your issue. For whatever reason MrMiata enjoys picking apart my and other members posts to try and come across as witty at our expense. Witty I think not. Petty ? Probably. I think onehundred80 said it best "I give up"
The simplicity of a seat and your fear of diving in is what makes me question any ability you have. No torque specs to worry about .. .002 clearance factors or otherwise. Having pretty much learned your personality on the seat thread.. well I'll let you respond and get in the childish last word. If I'm not mistaken 180 had enough of you in that thread too.
