Default Recycle your air, anyone?

I rarely use the recycle a/c mode switch except when driving thru a tunnel or on a dusty road.

Late the other evening driving thru that stinking tunnel, radio reception went awol and as usual I hit the recycle a/c switch. I hear a faint rattling/flapping noise emanating from the rear cargo area somewhere. Switch off the recycle ... the flapping rattle noise disappears, switch it back on ... noise reappears, and so on. So it's definitely related to air venting via the recycle mode.
  1. Can anyone tell me if they've experienced the same?
  2. Is it due to fresh air providing positive pressure inside the cab whilst recycled converts to neg pressure? (or visa versa?)
  3. That this causes a rear air vent baffle flapping about somewhere in the rear cargo area?
  4. Is there a rear vent in the cargo area?
