Steve(32krazy) found this neat little mount that says it is for the Crossfire..... I looked at how it mounted and thought... that won't work on a Crossfire. But it did give me an excellent starting point so I bought one.
NEW VALENTINE ONE V1 RADAR LASER DETECTOR BRACKET MIRROR MOUNT | eBay
I got it on Tuesday and as I expected the clamp for the mirror mount was useless. But in taking the mirror off I found out you need to use a 5mm rod(or equivalent) and stick it in the hole on the back side of the mount and twist 90 degrees and the mirror falls off. Now the coincidentally cool thing about that is that the threaded ball stud on the clamp is a 1/4-20 thread. 5mm = ~0.20".... so I took a 1/4-20 tap and threaded the 5mm hole on the mirror mount...then I screwed the ball stud into the mirror mount and set the jam nut... seemed pretty secure but I added a nut inside the mirror mount to give it more to hold onto...
I also found that the link on the bracket is a little short and you can not adjust the V1 under the mirror correctly so it is flat and clears the little dimmer switch on the bottom of the mirror.....

So I milled up a little spacer to go between the V1 bracket and the new bracket... aaahhhhh just right! A little black paint and a couple of button head screws and it should be perfect....
