Default Re: New mount for my V1...

Not intending to hijack the thread here, but this is the first thread I've seen regarding the Valentine 1 (and its mounting), so I thought I would add some pics of an alternative crossfire/slk-specific mounting arrangement.

I think that this mount Steve found (and then MikeR made work) is super cool (and an awesome value) .... I just don't like things hanging from the rearview ... that's just me (since I often watch the road/track through the windshield of the guy in front of me, I am sensitive to this issue)

Also, if you use the remote display for your valentine, you don't necessarily need the receiver right in your face anyway.

This install did require that I cut-down (shorten) the passenger visor, but I feel that with the V1 tucked up and out of the way, it is less likely to invite a sticky fingered passer-by to reach into the car ... so it was worth sacrificing a visor (I had a spare : ).

Still left to add is a cover (to the rear) made out of some Perspex 962 (black, yet transparent to infrared light (at least at 904 Nm where laser operates)) leftover from a hidden laserjammer install.

NOTE alternative TENNIS BALL placement as well (pic 3) .... I like to back in and the ball positioned thusly aligns both my X and Z axes : )
