I've had my '04 for a while. The maintenance costs have been reasonable. It has been on a tow truck several times. Flat tire = tow truck. The other times were for the CPS problem that you have probably seen mentioned a few times. Drive train failures have been rare. So I wouldn't get an extended care but would recommend getting a tow service (AAA?).

It is expensive to repair and getting parts can be a problem but luckily failures are also rare.
