Problem is, the thinner the sidewall, the less sidewall flex you have and therefore the easier it is to break traction for a launch. The 20's are killing you, but they sure do look pretty. Even the factory 19's on our cars are torque-stealing boat anchors. There's a reason Les is running 18's all-around...
John I am planing on attending a couple of Hooked on Driving events this year as well as the Crossfire event in NC. I have been putting this set together for a while and picked up the 18" all around ADR wheels with Toyo R888 dedicated track tires set yesterday. We put them on the car to check fitment and then I drove it over to the twisties to check them out.

I could really feel the difference in accelleration over the 19/ 20"s. I had no idea it could make that much difference. The fronts are 225/40ZR/18 and weigh 40 lbs( bathroom scales) and the rears are 295/30/18 and weigh 48 lbs. No rubbing and a lot of fun. Probably did not get them heated up good so the best is yet to come.

I am sure there are much lighter wheels out there but I got this set up in my budget with the main focus of saving the wear and tear on the pilot super sports.

BTW I have a set of Hoosier P275/40R/17 drag radials that I have had for a while and yet to try. LOL.
