If the part is coated with such a resistant release agent then not only will the 3M tape not adhere, nor the wrap, you'd have a hell of a time painting it as well!! I didn't realize it had such a coating but figured I'd thrown in that "body shop prep solvent" just in case. Besides, I'm the guy who polishes the paint after it's applied - I don't prep surfaces for paint, nor do I spray the paint.
So are you trying to say your the "buffer" between painter and customer?
Next "let's see adventure.".. clean section of spoiler with chemtool and apply automotive plastic primer.. Could be a short cut.. Just maybe the Gods are with me and it will act like an etching agent too. Never know till you try I figure!
