Bottom line, if the locking pin comes out, remove it, and reassemble.
If it won't budge, grind it down with a Dremel, and reassemble.
This is the cost effective route to the promised land, without buying additional parts (tumbler, etc.).
If someone like the Dealer is involved, who knows what those knuckleheads will try and stick you for, unless they follow this lead, and only charge for labor...
