I also have the 6 speed. I have never had a problem with gear popping out, but I know others have. Like +fireamx said, take it for a long spin and test for yourself.

Although first gear reminds me of the old "granny" gear, I still use it. I have gotten used to it being rather weird LOL. The rest of the gears are great. Oh yah, the reverse gear? Sometimes I have to try a couple of times. You have to lift UP, then over...makes it a tad awkward, but hardly so bad I am affected by it.

Just drive and you'll see if you really like it or not. It is different from all the other manual tranny's I have had...but then the Crossfire is different from anything I have ever driven too! I love it.
