as for the jetta gli...this car is the "best bang for the buck" if you need a 4 door. what a great looking car with all the important parts (wheels, seats, suspension & stance, chin spoiler, rear spoiler, rocker panels, etc). i have 2 friends that have this car & love it. the new jetta just doesn't do for me. they sent the last generation out with a hit.
The beetle was fun. All three were progressive (one more fun than the next). I would up wanting a big turbo after doing a stage II setup on the GLI. If your friends have questions about mods with any turbo'd VW, I am your man.
Thanks for the kind comments. I miss the GLI a lot with all of the problems I am having with my Roadster.
As for the others, there is no competency or experience that will compensate for a transmission popping out of gear...I am a pretty big guy and can't hold it in there...
