Default re: Sticky Ignition Key Fix for all Crossfires 2004 thru 2006

I sincerely hope someone can help me.
I had been having the sticky ignition issue for a while now but I made the mistake of totally ignoring it. Today, after 2 hours and a BROKEN key --- I still couldn't get the car to start so I decided to follow the instructions here.

I got all the way to step 10 where it tells you to skip to the "KEY WON'T TURN" section and in that section it is telling me to drill out the locking pin. I am totally confused because I don't see the locking pin. It seems like the trim from the steering wheel is covering where the locking pin would be so I am not quite sure how to get to it.

Also, for those of you who have fixed this issue; are you laying on your back inside of the car while working on it or are you sitting in the drivers seat. It seems impossible to lay on my back because the lower dash is sort of just hanging there.

Please help me. I am in Los Angeles. No car. And certainly can't afford to go shell out 800 dollars to get this fixed.
