SHE RUNS!!!
To give everyone cliff notes, here is the timeline of the fiasco:
- Started, ran rough. Each time the car was started after initial sensor failure, idled extremely rough. Tried this 4 times and dove into the repair.
- Changed CPS (cam) with brand new Beck-Arnley unit. Went from rough idle to no start.
- Checked RCM... no damage
- Changed CPS (crank). Would crank all day long, but no start.
- Scratched heads and assumed the worst for three days.
- Today, changed the front CPS from the Beck Arnley unit back to the OEM Bosch unit. Reset battery for ten minutes. VROOOM!!!!
So, lesson for all. If your car came with Bosch CPS (cam),
DO NOT use the Beck Arnley unit. Yes, they're supposed to be interchangeable. No, they're not.
So, after one week and lots of worrying, it was the CPS (crank) that had failed. Yes, we replaced that with Bosch as well.
So, the car lives, glory to God!!!
Steve was an immense help in all of this as well. I owe him a new CPS and a 24-pack of anything he wants...
