Some of you think I've gone mad, but I'm simply bored with the Mandrus wheels. Absolutely nothing wrong with them, just looking for a change.
With my Graphite paint, I want to run a dark wheel but I don't want it to look out of place with the silver body trim (which I intend to leave in place).
I've had my eye on a set of C63 AMG reps (JUL/TüV cert) that are gunmetal with polished ridges. A real looker, as I've seen these in person and I can get them in an 18/19 stagger. Price is a sweetheart, too. I've always loved a classic 5-spoke look, and you can actually see a lot of the Crossfire's body lines in the wheels (fender recess, anyone?). These will also be great at showing the nice pretty brakes in store for my car
Next at-bat, is the TSW Silverstone. It's quite similar to what I'm running (silver windows/machined face), but about 30% lighter and I really dig the 2-piece look. Also, the Silverstone has a 8" front wheel width (no more stretched 225's) and the rear wheel's lip is nice and deep (3" vs the 1.75" lip I have now). A multi-spoke wheel always looks exquisite on the Crossfire... They will be anything but subtle, but will be a classy look... and will certainly pop against the silver trim. Reminds me a lot of the Carlsson look...
Price between the two styles is a non-issue, as they're both cheap. AMG reps will certainly be easier to clean (and keep clean) but the Silverstone is lighter. C63 look is certainly more subdued... but sportier at the same time. Silverstone screams
sporty elegance, which is a look the Crossfire is an expert in pulling off.
