It feels like it's "tripping over itself" because the TC alternately applies the brakes to each wheel. Even by using the DRBIII scan tool, you can't disable the TC without doing a complete reprogramming of the ECU through an aftermarket Engine Management computer like Motec. Sad to say you're stuck with the darn thing unless you replace the entire computer with a custom program...

I'm working with Motec to develop a custom ECU for the car which will allow me to turn the car into an SCCA track car, but the new computer system is several months away and will probably cost quite a few thousand $.
