Re: Super charger questions
I've just read this entire thread all the way through, and i just gotta throw my two cents in here. If you all put this much effort into your own R&D, you could build a custom turbo set up relatively easy. Yes, there is limited space, but there's enough to work with. As long as you have an efficient enough intercooler and a good control over your a/f mixture, you should be plenty able to run 7-9 psi. If you wanted to, you could even twin turbo it with almost less work than single turbo because of the exhaust manifold set up, if you ran 2 Turbonetics T3 super 60 trim turbos and ran 9 psi of boost, they should run cooler(than a single) and spool up relatively quick, and help prevent against detonation. The largest concern aside from detonation, is piping all of this, but with proper planning and a large machine shop (which i'm fortunate enough to have helping me), this is very possible, and for considerable less than your supercharger kit, i'm estimating a conservative $4,500 dollars, although more likely $3,500.
