while you are correct the semi pads grip much harder when heated up and matched with the proper rotors. the ceramics are a softer compound and tend to fade from repeated hard use.
in short they both have their uses but it depends on the driving style.
my rotors have a brinell hardness of 277 and would destroy a set of ceramics as well as ruin the rotors due to the pad sticking to the rotor.
