Need new brake pads... Help!
Forum,
I need to change my brake pads on my Base Coupe. Chrysler was no help, they said between $170 to $400, just for front pads. I need to replace front and back. Where should I go to get them? Chrysler or Mercedes? My OEM pads got 70k worth of use, so I'd prefer to stay stock. Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciated.

SORRY, but at this price I wouldn't fit these on a kids scooter. You NEED to get at least a decent quality Ceramic Type pad, and you should be paying about $80-$100 per SET. REMEMBER you get what you pay for, Pay CRAP get CRAP. Don't understate your Crossfire, Buy Quality replacement parts for a Quality car. Remember your LIFE MAY DEPEND ON IT.

Do a search on the forum , there is alot imfo out there , got mine off ebay payed like 80 bucks front and back , and you can get a good deal on good set just look around ,
I ONLY use Ceramic, AS NOTED IN MY POST, AND it doesn't make me feel BETTER with quality pads, it makes me feel SAFER, My life is worth the extra $80-100 for a FULL SET, IS YOURS. ?????? ITS TOO LATE AFTER SOMETHING HAPPENS, These are quality FA>>>>ST cars, and NEED quality stopping POWER. If YOU choose different,I sincerely HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU.

thats a totally incorrect statement. ceramics have less brake dust and decent stopping power. semi metallics have better braking ability and should be used with a higher hardness rotor. the best thing is to use the proper pad with the rotor
in short they both have their uses but it depends on the driving style.
my rotors have a brinell hardness of 277 and would destroy a set of ceramics as well as ruin the rotors due to the pad sticking to the rotor.
The ceramic pads are a better choice for my requirements and application
BTW, tks GG for sharing these articles!

I got 68,000 miles from my front OEM pads. I HATED THEM.
I had Hawk HPS pads put on the front last month and am SUPER PLEASED !!! About $78 delivered and it cost me $85 to have them put on. They perform great, don't fade (see my sigline) and produce 1/10 the dust of the CRAPPY OEMs.
I have about 80% of the rear OEMs so I haven't changed them.
Just my two cents, and thanks to JHMK2 for the suggestion.

I bought quality ceramic pads at Pep Boys, along with rotors, and put them on myself. It's *very* easy to do, if you have the tools, and there is an excellent step by step how to available on the forum.
