Looks like your on track here.. but pay double attention to seating those bulbs! Could have sworn mine seated.. till dark and time to use them. My drivers side looked like it was hitting the ground 5 feet in front of the car. Played with it the next day and felt it hit the sweet spot.

The single black is the positive
the double black is the negative

Also..

i've connected a few hid kits from different cars, polarity doesn't really matter (you can connect the red or black to either pos or negative). the ballast is just a step up transformer, just boosts voltage to 1k or something. diff for diff brands.
