Would it be a good level if it was between 1 and 2 inches on the zip-tie home-made dipstick? I know it must bottom out in the pan (carefully) when you take the reading.

look at the links above and look at the picture and you will see that 1 inch from the bottom is ok but on the lower side of low/ if it were me I would be right in the middle when the two notches, be careful it builds up very quickly, looks like to me you need to add,like one fourth of a quarter .. maybe less. jim
