I thought you would get a laugh out of this.
I called the Mercedes dealer last week to get a price on a new steering stabilizer, they said $141, and they had one in stock.
Out of interest I called the Chrysler Stealership, who said it would be... wait for it... $1,630.00!!! And they said there was none left in Australia or America, so it would need to be sourced from Germany, and would have at least a month leadtime!
Needless to say I purchased the stabilizer from Mercedes, which made a noticable difference to the steering.
I'm still not rid of the grinding noise at low speed, I'll replace the break rotors next, hopefully that is the cause.
