The transmission fluid was done by a friend of mine who works on high performance engines and I used OEM filter, fluid and gasket. I also bought the after market dip stick to measure up the fluid to ensure that the oil levels are adequate. I have put almost 2000 miles on it since and the transmission has been shifting perfectly normal.

Now in the hindsight this also happened to my 2007 Mercedes S550 with 12k miles a couple of years (have sold it since) as I accelerated heavily once and its transmission went into a "confused state" :-) and I had to shut the engine down and then restart and it was fine after that.

I love the car and this is my second Xfire. The first one was a stick and this one is automatic and is my daily driver. I put roughly 65 miles on it daily and absolutely love it.

I am hoping that it was what we are thinking it is and everything is perfectly fine.
