Default Re: Dream Car Wont Start - Tears Tears Tears

No Tears, No Fears...

Mine too just had this problem. When i tried to start her, all the dash lights lite up nice and bright, but turn the key and all is silent, no start click, not sounds from the engine at all.

This morning, I tried to start the crossfire with my wife's key and the Crossfire started right up!!!

So then, I tried with my key, and she started right up... ok. Now, not wanting to be stranded somewhere, I investigated under the hood. The neg. battery post had corrosion. I removed the cable and cleaned that up. I then opened the black box next to the battery where the RCM is located and pulled the board as described very well on this site. I had already made the solder repairs two years ago, but decided to recheck. I could see what looked like a crack on one of the solder points previously redone, so I did it again. Not too difficult, if you are unfamiliar with using a soldering iron or don't have one, go to radio shack and purchase the kit for under $10, ask one of the employees to explain how to use it and give it a try.

Anyway, mine starts just fine and I love being able to work on it myself. Thanks to this site and all the wonderful owners out there willing to share... we save alot of money otherwise wasted on dealerships that will replace parts that could otherwise be repaired by "DIY".

Hope this helps!!!
