What he said.
Fan coming on can be one of the symptoms.
Dealer won't find this. No codes.

Wow! Really pleased with the helpful responses. Big Thankyou to everybody who took time to post new info. I now have several avenues to explore even if dealership proves to be useless.

So far the UK Stoneacre dealership have provided limited help, (which is not Chrysler based). I had a so called lifetime warranty thrown in when I bought the car as I knew there might be issues. They have worked their magic on the startup and it has improved. So far it has only refused to start on 1 occasion (but only had it back a day).

They have stated that there was a problem with the standard key entry mechanism. I asked why this would cause the fan to operarte at high speeds. No proper answer for that question. They have stated that they do not have the systems to communicate with the ECU etc etc. So if the problem continues they would have to book in the car with a local Chrysler dealership directly to solve the issue. I think i might refer their mechanic to this website.

So the saga continues. Pass me the soldering iron!

Thanks to Alaxfire for engine temp response as I was very curious / worried about that! Engine temp does creep up very quickly to the halfway point and thankfully stays there.

Thanks also to Graphiteghost who has even created a key fob test lab to help. Amazing!

I tested this out by removing the batteries from my remote (just to show here, I knew it would start the car) and left them out for about 1/2 hour then used that battery-less key to start the car. Of course it started without any problem as I expected it would. The batteries are there only to open/close the doors and to hit the panic alarm.
im not talking about the fob but the key itself. as it wears down the connection to the starter ring on the ignition cant recognize it so it shuts the car down. daytona jae had the same symtoms and rudy spied it rite away. new key and no more problems

Cheers for tip re physical condition of keys.
I have a spare key and did test it to see if this started the car but the same problem was encountered. Trouble is you when you buy used you dont know how often the spare has been used either. So for all I know both keys could be in poor condition. I will add this to my list of possible solutions

it was just an idea. if the outside of the fob is in good condition the key most likely is also.
