Default open the trunk when the battery is dead? nope.

since there is no manual lock on the trunk, it can only be unlocked electronically (with the fob or via the dashboard button). unfortunately, my battery died a couple days ago. i keep a set of jumper cables in the trunk in case this should happen, but was surprised to find the trunk completely inaccessible without a live battery. duh...

where do most people keep their jumper cables?

oddly, there is an emergency release for the trunk - but it's on the *inside* - where no one big enough to drive the car could ever fit.
