open the trunk when the battery is dead? nope.
open the trunk when the battery is dead? nope.
since there is no manual lock on the trunk, it can only be unlocked electronically (with the fob or via the dashboard button). unfortunately, my battery died a couple days ago. i keep a set of jumper cables in the trunk in case this should happen, but was surprised to find the trunk completely inaccessible without a live battery. duh...
where do most people keep their jumper cables?
oddly, there is an emergency release for the trunk - but it's on the *inside* - where no one big enough to drive the car could ever fit.

Re: open the trunk when the battery is dead? nope.
thanks for this thread by the way. i keep jumper cables in the back, and never even thought about the possible issue with this. Thanks for the heads up!

I carry one of those portable battery thingeys in the trunk, when you hook it up, it has lights that indicate that all is well BEFORE you turn on the main switch in it to connect the 2 batteries together. This thing WONT start the car, but after about 10 minutes of being connected, the main battery is awake enough to do the job.
It's also handy to charge other stuff like cell phones, or run a portable radio/TV.
